Hello! My name is Dani and I’m a first year medical student at the University of North Carolina. Medicine is my passion and it has been since I was 5 years old, yet some part of me wishes I could also be a baker, a web designer, a photographer, a seeker of adventures and world traveler. Since I could not realistically do all these things as most of my time is currently occupied by molecules, cells and neuronal pathways, I have decided to start this blog. This is my way of pushing myself to explore life outside the classroom, and to revive the much forgotten left side of my brain.
In med school we take tests every two weeks, usually on a Monday, so naturally, the weekend after a test is the most relaxed and cherished by med students and we endearingly refer to this valuable time of sanity as the Off-Weekend.
The challenge: I, with the help of my wonderful husband John (also a medical student), will try my best to create, enjoy, laugh, travel, taste, pleasure read and observe during Off-Weekends in order to balance the massive consumption of factoids that goes on during On-Weekends. This blog is our witness!
